Lulu
Life is always full of adventure. Just when one thinks they have a routine figured out, something happens to throw it all into a tail spin. I am amazed at how just one small little change can have us all spinning so much.
We decided to let Horn Man spend his holiday funding the way he wanted to. How did he spend it you ask? He went out and purchased a small rodent. It really isn't as bad as it sounds. I use this terminology that you might understand a little more the chaos it has caused in our home.
Horn man settled on a small Russian Dwarf Hamster. He named her Lulu. Everything was hunky dory until we brought her home and started setting up her new abode. Roxy, part terrier, also a bred to be famed as "rat terriers", went nuts. She got all tense when we introduced her. It was not super bad until we put her back on the floor and moved Lulu's abode to it new location on Horn Man's room. Roxy freaked. I don't think she slept at all last night. She lays on the bed where it is warm, but her ears are on super sensory mode and she kept jumping off the bed, going to Horn Man's door, scratching, and then coming to my side of the bed and waking me up. She wanted me to get up and take care of the fact that we had this rodent in the house, in Horn Man's room, and that Lulu was not sleeping. It was a crazy night.
I just checked in and she still on edge. She is alright while the Queen is working, but as soon as they come upstairs for breaks, she wants her to know there is a rodent in Horn Man's room. I don't know how long it will take for this one to pass. It is such a small thing in our minds, but is obviously a huge thing in hers.
Having the doorbell ring at 10:15 last night did not help matters any. Interestingly enough the door bell did not distract Roxy from her focus on the rodent. She did not even go to the front door. We were all in bed, trying desperately to go to sleep. We all had to get up, get dressed and see what the commotion was. It appears that Tall Man has been asked to Sweethearts, not by who he was planning on being asked, but asked all the same.
Nothing philosophical, just a update, trying to get back into the swing of things after being on vacation for weeks at a time. Have a lovely day.
