1 Nephi 2:20-24
As I read these verses, I was reminded of my patriarchal blessing. It is a promise from the Lord of what I can receive if I do the things he asks me to. Nephi was recieving this kind of a promise from the Lord. The promise is in vs. 20.
If we read vs. 21-24 we find the conditions of this promise. It does not matter what we do in life, there are always conditions. Whether is a job, school, home, or church. There are always conditions. If we want to have access to certain things in our lives or privledges, we must live according to the conditions.
I know that sometimes this seems hard, but it is the way we learn. Even when we are doing our best and think we may be ready to access or receive certain privledges, it does not mean it will happen. Just like the covenants we make, the access or privledge is given when those in control of them feel we are ready. Sometimes we may ask and receive the answer that we will get receive it in due time or when we are ready. We cannot keep asking why, but how and what else we need to do to achieve.
