1 Nephi 3:9-10

These two verses are very interesting. These brothers, packed their tents, headed out, and went on an extended camping trip. They way it is written, it does not look like they did much talking while they were out and about. It was not until they reached Jerusalem that they sat down and consulted one with another.

What does that mean to consult? Did they have different ideas about the purpose of their journey? Were they in agreement with the plan? I don't get that feeling. I have a feeling that there was very little communication if any at all about what they were doing.

What can we learn from this? We, as a family, need to be unified. We need to communicate. I know that sometimes it seems silly to share information, but it is so important. We should also be sharing our testimonies with each other.

I don't think that Laman had the same goals as Nephi. The Lord has asked us to be One. That goal starts in the home. Can each of you help in this goal? Share with me what you think it should be.
