The Color Gray/Grey?

W were having a discussion yesterday in High Council Meeting. We were talking about the grey/gray areas of life.

President related an experience that he has participated in the past few weeks at work. He works for a company that mixes and ships pharmaceuticals. Everything on the work floor has to be spotless. All of the counters, walls, doors, and shelving are made from stainless steel. The floor is a gray/grey poly coated something that is easy to clean. He was tasked with testings the lighting and the different shades of grey/gray that the floor should be. He was amazed at what happened when he changed the type of lighting or the shades of gray/grey objects places on the floor.

If the light was too bright, it reflected off the stainless steel and made lighter shades of grey/gray almost impossible to see. If the light was not bright enough, it made the darker shades of gray/grey almost impossible to see. He had to switch the colors and lighting to find the right mix that would be suitable for the the workers. He did not want them complaining of so much light that it blinded them or too little light that they were not able to see what they were doing. The problem was the shades of grey/gray. All of the cords, equipment, and objects on the floor would disappear from the workers vision and they were tripping over them.

We talked about this gray/grey. When things are black and white, it is easy to see. But the grey/gray is what trips us up. We have to be very careful. We cannot think that just because we have strong testimonies, attend church, read scriptures, and pray all the time that we immune to tripping over gray/grey matters. Even with the Light of Christ shining brightly in our lives, it is still easy to trip over the little shades of grey/gray because we think that it won't hurt us.

We must always be on our guard. Make sure you are seeing what is in front of you.
