10 Grams
This evening, I had to opportunity to visit with a couple in our area. The two of them looked tired. We had tried to visit them last night, but they were not home. So, we left a note for them to call us when they did get home. We had a meal prepared for them.
Well, they called tonight. While I searched our house for the meal we had prepared, I took the opportunity to visit. I wanted to know how they were doing. I don't know that they told me everything, but they did talk. They were excited. Their little one had gained 10 grams in the last 24 hours. I could hear the excitement in their voices, but I am not sure I could hear hope.
After talking for a few minutes and frantically searching the house, I told them I would find the meal and bring it by the house. I jumped in the car and headed to the church. The ward was having a dinner for the women this evening. I quietly found the Queen and asked her where the meal was. She informed me that our friends had not been home on Sunday night either and that sisters were starting to gather the previous days meal before taking their meal up.
I found out where the past three meals were and dropped them off. They were home for a few short minutes before heading back to the hospital. We talked for few of moments of there small child that was born two months pre-mature. They have been told that she probably won't come home until around the 15th of May. That is the day she was originally due.
As I left there home, I can only wonder. I wonder what goes through their minds and hearts. I ponder what keeps them going. I try to imagine what changes will have to be made in their lives. I pray they will turn to the Lord and those who serve him.
