Scripture Thought

1 Nephi 7:6

So, this is what I am seeing. This large party of people had consented to take a three day journey into the wilderness, where, once they arrived, they would be living for an undetermined amount of time before going to this prime real estate Lehi talked about.

How long had they been with Ishmael? How long had the son's of Lehi been living in the wilderness before they came to Ishmael's family? When they started this small three day journey, was it the son's of Ishmael to rebelled or was it the son's of Lehi? It makes one wonder.

I wonder what happened in those three days. Did it rain? Did someone sleep on a rock? Did someone take too long to dig a potty hole? Did they argue over whose turn it was to get dinner or do the dishes? Had some of them been tent buddies too long? I don't know. Look around the world today. Are there people who get along with less than you do? Who has more reason to rebel?

Continuing on along my thought process, Nephi said "They" rebelled against us. We know it was Laman and Lemuel. Why weren't they leading this expedition? Why were they leading the rebellion? It appears that some are doers and some are non-doers. When placed in any situation, which are you? When it comes to working around the house, classroom, school, homework, or work. Are you doing or not doing? Did Laman and Lemuel do or not do? Which are you?

It makes one wonder who really found favor in the sight of Ishmael. Who found favor in the hearts of his family. Was it the leaders/doers or was it the other group. What can we learn from this? Think about it. Would you lead, follow, or rebel?
