Sharing Time
I had the opportunity to attend a Stake Auxiliary meeting last night. The Queen was supposed to attend, but they invited all of the spouses as well. It was not for me, but I enjoyed some of the comments.
When I got home, I sequestered myself in my room and took some time to think, ponder, study, and let it all soak in. I don't know how much of it will run together, but this is what came of it.
The speaker at our meeting was the Stake Primary President. She gave one of those talks that was all over the place. I could tell she had jotted down several thoughts, bullet points, and scriptures, but not really sure how to present them. I think she was trying to practice a challenge she had been given from our Stake President. The interesting thing was that even though she was just sharing different random thoughts, they all had something of value.
One of the thoughts that I really like was something she call Scripture Sharing Time. She described it as a moment to sit down with as a group, family, class, or couple, each with a set of scriptures. One person would be chosen to start and would share the first scripture that came to mind. Share their thoughts and then pass the baton so to speak. The next person would then be asked to share the first scripture that came to mind while the other was sharing. Maybe they would add to it, expound upon the thought, or share something completely new.
The idea intrigues me. I love just sharing ideas about the scriptures. Some times it is several verses, some times it is just a single verse. I love hearing how the spirit moves other individuals.
So, lets share. When you get this blog, I would like to share Enos 1:15. Please share your thoughts, feelings, or ramblings about this verse. What do you hear? What does it tell you? Shoot me an email. Call me on the phone. Let me know.
Then I pass the baton.
