Just doing what needs to be done

I really tried to enter this last night, but the system would not let me load it. I am going to try again tonight.

The past several days have been extremely long. We started last week with hurricane relief. Mom and I both started working longer hours to make sure we were doing our part. This week, I have been on the late shift rotation, but we have also been trying to roll out a new product to those at home. It has been crazy. I don't think there has been a day in the past week that I have not worked less than 12 hours. Tomorrow, I will get up and do it again.

Am I crazy? Don't answer that. Do I work these kind of hours all the time? No. However, because I do work them when the need arises, my supervisors, managers, director, and fellow co-workers know that I will be there to help or complete any project that needs to be done.

I was driving home last night and thinking about how tired I was. I was also thinking about what other responsibilities I needed to take care of. I realized that when life got this busy, I needed to make sure I did not slack off in other responsibilities. I still have responsibilities in my calling, in the house, in the home and in my personal development. Those things cannot stop.

It is called work. We all do it in one fashion or another. It is called responsibility. We all have it in one way or another. As long as we can walk away when it is all over and say that we gave it our absolute best, it does not matter what other say or think. It is my belief that if we are truly giving our best in all aspects of our life, we won't have to worry about what other think or say because they will know that they can count on you.

You need to learn these principles. The Lord expects us to live them. He does not just sit around all day and do nothing. I am sure it take a great deal more than we could ever imagine to raise and lead our eternal family.
