Scripture Thought 9/19/08
1 Nephi 1:5What do we learn from this verse? What kind of man was Lehi? What can we do to be like him? He went to the Lord often in pray. He, like many before and after him, prayed not only for himself, but for his people. Who were his people? Just the people of Jerusalem? He prayed for his family, stewardship, neigbhors, community, nation, and children of God. He did not just pray for a select few. He was concerned about all of them rich, poor, healthy or sick. He wanted them to receive the same blessings he had received. Are we doing the same? Are we praying, by name, for those that do not pray, those who mock us, or those with whom we do not see eye to eye with? What are we praying will happen to these people? Once we have prayed for them, about them, or in their behalf, what are we doing about it? Do we go to the Lord with a wish list or an action list?
