Living

In one of the broadcasts I read each day work, I found this quote and it inspired me.

"Just living is not enough. ... One must have sunshine, freedom and a little flower."
Hans Christian Andersen

This statement is so true. We need were not sent to this earth, just for the experience. There were many experiences we were sent here to have. Yet, I am also reminded of the parable of the talents. We are to expound on life and make something more of it.

Now making more of it does not mean that we have to be the best, the brightest, the smartest, the most admired, the most talented, the spotlight on every stage. We just have improve upon the life we have that we may have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower. How does that happen?

If we are always concerned about what others think, how others think, and what they are thinking about us, we will not have freedom. We will constantly weighed down with this stress and worry of living up to some fabricated illusion in our own minds.

What matters is if we are doing our best to brighten our days with sunshine, often by brightening the lives of other. This light will liberate us. We will then find that flowers grow from the seeds we have planted in that sunshine.

Growing these flowers may not be easy. It will require us to stretch, not beyond our capacity, but stretch to our capacity and potential. Step out of the darkness of just living. Fill the corners of out lives with sunshine. Nurture the seeds that have been planted and freely enjoy the beauty of the flowers with others.

We cannot do it alone. The plan of salvation does not require that. We rely on the Savior. We rely on others and they rely on us.
