Emotion Continue
Last night when I went to bed, I kept thinking about this emotion thing. There are other emotions that are difficult to control. One of the biggest ones is discerning the difference between need and want. We often confuse these two. Generally it is the want that wins.
Now wanting something is not a bad thing. It is how we deal with that wanting that is. When wanting turns in to desire or lust, it has gone bad. The emotion of desire or lust often blinds. We don't see or do anything else until that emotion is satisfied. As a result, anger often rises it ugly head when satisfaction is not met.
Wanting can also turn in to coveting. This emotion is closely related to desire and lust, the only difference being that I see one as being more sexual than the other. Coveting is does the same thing to us. Our want is so strong that we see nothing else. We will do anything to obtain and satisfy the want.
Are you seeing the picture? I am not saying that wanting something is bad. Being involved in a relationship is not bad. What I am saying that if you let the emotions take over, it is bad. You must learn to control the emotion and use it to your advantage. Set goals, try something new, develop a talent, or step out of your comfort zone to obtain that goal. Use the emotion, don't let it use you.
