1 Nephi 2:14
Did Laman and Lemuel believe? Or were they just along for the ride? Did they go along with there father for the social benefit? What was there intent?
We are given the idea that Laman and Lemuel not only heard the word of God within their home, but also from other prophets of God. Lehi took his family to hear the word of God from the prophets He has sent. Was it like going to church for them? Were they there to see their friends, draw pictures, sleep, or were they there to hear the word?
We have know that Lehi encouraged his family to follow the teachings of the prophets. However, I doesn't appear that they really believed.
What must we believe? Does it take more than just saying we believe?
Believing is also living. We must act upon what we know to be true. We cannot go around saying "Do as I say, not as I do" We need to be going around saying " Do as I do". This action is what we call faith. We have to believe that there will be benefit or blessings if we do something. We have to believe it with our entire hearts. Once we exercise that faith, the Lord will bless us, thus we gain a testimony that if we follow the words, we will see results.
Do you believe? What are you doing to show that belief? If we were to ask your associates, would they say that you believe?
