Are you OK

It has been an interesting few weeks. This afternoon, our company arranged a special meeting with 10 agents. I don't know why, but we were singled out amongst the few people who handled calls after the recent plane crash. I really did not take calls, but for some reason, leadership felt that I needed to be there. I was part of these individuals experience. It was interesting. We were supposed to share our feelings about the entire experience and start the healing process. I was again amazed.

Everyone of these people talked about a sense of duty, pride, commitment, and loyalty to the company or the people who were on the plane. They talked about feeling a sense of unity to everyone who worked the flight those first few days. They all connected to the loved ones of those who lost their lives in this tragedy. Even though they had never met these people. They did not know them from Adam. Yet there was a link.

I have been thinking about that. How many of us have a bond like that? Where is that bond? To whom is that bond? Our parents? Our siblings? How about to roommates? Families or individuals we home or visit teach? What about those with whom we serve? Do we have that bond with friends? How far would we go for that bond?

I fear that I am guilty of not building bonds with all of the above mentioned groups. I have bonds with some of them, but not all. I feel that maybe I should. I need to dedicate more to building those bonds. It does not matter where we live, where we work, where we serve, or what ward we are in, if we are to become one with Christ as he is one with the Father, we need to build the bonds. Why? Because he has built those bonds. Think about it.
