1 Nephi 3:1

How long do you think it took for Nephi to realize his desire? He had to figure out what he really wanted. What his true intent was. He then went to the Lord and conversed with him. Do you know what your desire is? Is it the same as the Lord's?

This verse talks about Nephi returning from speaking with the Lord. Where was he? Was it a sacred place? Was it far from the valley? Where is your sacred place? Better yet, do we make our lives sacred, so that we can commune with the Lord and the Holy Spirit no matter where we are?

Think about it. Find that sacred place. Make it a priority in your life.

Note that when Nephi had received the knowledge he was seeking, a special witness of the truth, he went to his father. He returned to the tent of his father. The relationship must have been special. I think it was more of the fact that he wanted to share what he had learned with those he cared most about. Who are you sharing with? have you sought to have the same witness? Are you an influence like Lehi was to Nephi? Who do you influence and how?
