Observation

I know that I was a slacker last night. I am not making excuses. I just got caught up in the moment and went with it. I got off of work at 4:40. I flew home to find the family making dinner, the boys ironing shirts, and a buzz in the air of the days events. Tall man and middle man were on their way to the Draper Temple. Little man was on his way to a tour of an engineering office. The Queen and I were on our way to the temple when the boys had been dropped off at the appropriate locations. We did not get back until late.

Anyway, while in the temple, I made an interesting observation that concerned me. At one point of the session, we are all gathered in an instruction room, sisters sit on one side and the brothers sit on the other. As we were entering the room, the sisters started on the front row and filled in every seat to the aisle and then started on the next row. The brothers would not sit next to each other. It was strange. They left one or two seats between themselves. It bothered me.

Aren't we supposed to be a large eternal family? Why are the sisters appearing cohesive, but the brothers are not? We all need to look for ways to be one. We need to feel comfortable together. We need to over look the little things in our wards, quorums, and auxiliaries. We need to make our selves fit in to the wards we are in, not look for a place that is cozy and comfortable. It appears that the only divides us. We need to stop thinking about the Me, and start looking at the Us.
