A couple weeks ago, we were sent a PowerPoint from headquarters to review for edits. It took our office about 3 days to compile a 7 page list of edits. We sent them back and waited. Several days later, a conference call was set up for us to go over the edits and present the product as a train the trainer at the same time.
It was amazing. We had trainers from three different offices on the phone. What was supposed to be a 2 hour module turned into almost 4 hours of more edits and changes. No one could seem to agree. Finally, we either made compromises or walking away upset that we had not been listened to.
Now, almost 2 weeks later, we have recieved the final version for training. I spoke with the person doing the final edits this morning. She was way concerned about the details of the power point. In fact, she was overly concerned. It was something that everyone was going to see, judge, and make comments about. All of these things reflected on her.
I started thinking about that. Final judgement day my be like that. Are we paying attention to the details of our life? Do we need to be better? Are we Ok with everything that we do, say, think, etc... being published from the roof tops? Think about it.
