I Thought We Had it Bad
Well, I think we have survived the first day of this adventure. I was sitting reflecting upon all that has happened and noticed a unusual news headline. Somewhere this past week, a mother gave birth to a 14 lb. baby boy. After listening to the story, I decided we didn't have it so bad after all. Horn Man was just shy of 10. If you look at him now, I can only imagine what the boy's future holds.
We are doing pretty good. We had a little council last night before hitting the hay. I presented my ideas of how I felt our weeks should be laid out and what I expected of each of us. The boys shared their concerns and we all came to different sorts of agreement. Before I left for work this morning, I left a list on the counter and left in faith. When I got home, everything was pretty much done. No one was seriously injured and the house was still standing.
Tenor man lost his vision and is struggling to make it with contacts. It sounds like the young men need to work on their passing skills. He was hit in the side of the head with a basketball during half time practice and broke the frame of his glasses.
Swing man went to practice, met up with his girl and some friends and we have not seen him sense. I don't know where he is going to find the time to memorize all the lines he has for each part if he doesn't hang around some place quiet with a script. Since he will have the opportunity to play the top five leading men in "Annie Get Your Gun", he will have memorize a few lines and songs.
Horn man had a plastic bag filled with clothes sitting in the garage when I got home and you could actually see the carpet fibers in his room when I came home.
They have all stepped up to expectation. I hope it continues.
As we prepare for the Sabbath, I pose one request. Can you please define "Gospel". Do your best not to use the word "church" in your definition. Let me know your thoughts.
