#LIGHTtheWORLD Dec 11
Teach the Children. This is such a sensitive subject. I don't have many children hanging out around the house right now in my life, but I hope that I can always share, teach, and help them grow in understanding. I have always loved listening to what they did each day, the adventures they pursued, the things they have learned and such. As they grow up, there have been times that the responses were short, vague, and sometimes disconnected, but I cherish them still them same.
Today, I find myself learning more from them at times that I feel they learn from me. Recently, I have learned from them about Endurance, Commitment, Being Adventurous, Prayer, Faith in the Lord and His chosen Leaders, Patience, Everlasting Love, Sacrifice, the Atonement, Repentance, Self-Evaluation, and much, much more. I can only hope that they are still learning from me.
I would encourage you to take the time to reflect on the challenges of your children, your own childhood, the struggles and challenges you or they faced. Do you see children today struggling with similar challenges? How can you help? What would you advise or counsel? Look and/or take the opportunity to make a difference.
In the end, remember that YOU are still a child of God. No matter where you are, what you have done, or what you need to overcome, He has an open invitation: Mark 10: 14 - ...Suffer the little children to unto me... Though we may not think of ourselves as little, we are. He will bless you, sustain you, and open the windows of heaven towards you, but you must make the effort to come unto Him.
