Merry Christmas Eve!

Yes, I know I am sending this a day behind, but that is how I roll.  For those of you living in the futures, Merry Christmas!  Some of you won't even read this until it has all come and gone.  Best Wishes to all!

Today has given me much to think about, as always.  It is Christmas Eve.  Our house is empty.  I had to turn on some music just to make it more festive.  We have two serving the Lord in other parts of the country, one is married, and one who keeps herself busy with work and church callings.  But what has been on my mind is the fact that today, we are not following all of our normal traditions.  Silly isn't it?

We find ourselves asking, what do we do now that we are not following normal stuff.  The stores are closed, neighbors are out and about, and we are home.  It just deepens my understanding of the Plan of Salvation and even more so of the important role that FAMILY plays in this plan.  My family is my everything.  They have made me who I am.  I cannot imagine not having them as part of my life.

As I pondered these thoughts today.  I was sadden to think that there are so many people out there who do not have family close.  My sadness was deepened to think that there are some who have purposely distanced themselves from those who are so closely related.

I hope and pray that you will find time to spend with those you love.  If you have not done so in a while, I would encourage you to re-kindle the relationship.  Besides your own personal identity, FAMILY is the most valuable thing we have the opportunity to take with us from this life to the next.  Don't let it go to waste.
