#LIGHTtheWORLD Dec. 3

I don't know that we were really following the outlined guide for today's activity.  It was supposed to be about helping other see.

I did go get my eyes checked, does that count?  Probably not.

However, my eyes were opened to how the Lord reveals things to us.  He does this for me all the time.  The example I share today is one that I am grateful for.

Over a year ago, Elder Durrant issued an invitation to us all.  I guess there was two invitations.  I have tried to be diligent in doing both.  One was weekly pondering of a verse or two of scripture.  I have truly been blessed by that.  The other was to put a side a small dollar amount each week.  The Queen refers to it as squirreling.  She thinks I have been squirreling away money.  I find it interesting how we both heard the same talk and she heard "SAVE" money.  I heard "PUT" aside money.  It was revealed to her that we should be "SAVING" for our future.  It was revealed to me that this would be a great way to "HELP" others in need.  If you go back, neither one of us are incorrect, we just have different visions.  We are trying to do both.

In the past year plus, I have been squirreling away funds.  Nothing big, but spare change, bills, or such here and there.  I have not been doing it with any specific goal in mind other than, when we hear of someone in need, we might be able to assist.  We have been blessed with those opportunities.

The most recent was done on this day.  In January, our ward decided that we were going to do a service project for Christmas instead of having a big lavish dinner.  It was decided that we would put together hygiene kits for refugees in the area.  Because of the VISION of Elder Durrant, the REVELATION given to me, we were able to fill in and help many in need.  We spent the evening putting together supplies that were donated from our ward members.  It has been fun over the last couple of weeks explaining to clerks why we were purchasing hundreds of tooth pastes, tooth brushes, shaving cream, deodorants, wash cloths, and pads.  It felt good to be able to join with our ward family and put together some 373 packets as well and provide several full outfits for children agents 6 mo. to 14 yrs.

I hope and pray, their burdens will be lighten.  I know mine has been.
