#LIGHTtheWORLD Dec 18

I love the Sabbath.  I truly try to separate myself from normal activities of the week.  It is not always easy, but I do my best.  Today I really tried hard not to use my phone for anything other than church related things.  I did set it down and walk away for an hour or so and put it in AIRPLANE mode while at church.  It was nice.

I thoroughly enjoyed attending church today.  I was able to actively participate as I prepared to attend.  I was reminded about the importance of giving.  Focus was given to the gifts Christ gave.  It has given me much to ponder as I reflect upon what He helps me see by giving the gift of SIGHT, what I am able to hear through His gift of HEARING, and the strength to endure life's challenges with His gift to WALK.

We studied the council given to Mormon at a very young age.  My mind is swirling around Mormon 5:17-18.  Life in today's world is very much like a wind tossed sea.  I am so grateful for the gospel in my life, the scriptures, the words of living prophets, and the example/encouragement for those around me to use His power as a SAIL, ANCHOR, and HELM.  There are times He and His words will carry us through the storms of life, then there are times when we much drop our anchors to stand firmly against the raging waves and wind, and always there are times that we will be guided through His holy messenger, if we are willing to make Him a part of our lives.

I was touched and inspired as I listened to testimony of those who will be leaving to serve for a period.

And finally, I was able to enjoy the companionship of family as we dined together with thanks giving.

I pray that your Sabbath was as enjoyable.
