Just a Quick one

I am sitting here in Houston trying to stay warm. I don't know what is going on. It has been a long day. I started early, flew to Houston, grabbed a car, did a hotel, and went to work. I am here until 10:30 Mountain Time. I am beat.

Anyway, I said this would be quick. I have been thinking about a talk given in Priesthood session last Saturday. The idea of talking, listening, and communicating with each other. What a powerful talk. This past week, I was able to witness some of those examples.

Last week in the temple, I was doing my last shift of initiatory. A young man came down and wanted to get going as soon as he could, because he knew that his father would be working in that area next. He had come to the temple to follow his father, who was an ordinance worker, and share with him that experience of his father performing the ordinances.

Then this week, I was able to work with a father and son team. They were doing as many family names as they could. Together they went through the circuit. What a powerful experience and teaching tool. They would then be able to talk about the blessings received in the temple.

Finally, Elder Scott came through the initiatory area on Tuesday. He changed and started with a few names. When he finished, we had 9 brethren doing the same thing and 4 more waiting their turn. When he came out, he asked for more names. The coordinator gave him the names and ushered him back to the booth. However, Elder Scott stopped him and said Brother, that would not be right. He then took his sit at the back of the line. What a powerful example.

I was able to see sons turning to their fathers, fathers turning to their sons, and leaders setting the true example of service, not expecting higher privilege because of calling. It was amazing. I love working in the temple.
