What are we living for
On the way into work this morning, I was listening to some strange talk show/infomercial for the way to live. Before I turned it off, I heard one of the voices say, "If you are doing, because you have to, instead of because you want to, you are living the wrong way." Of course they were talking about how you to could become a millionaire just sending in a few dollars to pay for shipping on this book. I clicked it off and started thinking.
Do we go to work because we have to or because we want to? Do we go to school because we have to or because we want to? Do we get up in the morning because we have to or because we want to? It has caused me reason to reflect.
Maybe I/we are not thinking properly. We are extremely blessed. We have jobs, we are able to meet our needs, not because we have to, but because we are able to. The Lord has filled our lives with many blessings. We are able to be educated. We really do not have to make many sacrifices to do so and when we are educated, our lives are blessed because of it.
Maybe we should not be looking for more and complaining about what we don't have because want it, but count the blessings that we do have and look for ways to help other people who don't. The Lord tells us first to seek the kingdom of God, and then seek riches for the benefit of others.
Maybe we don't need a million dollars to help ourselves out, but we need a million dollars to help others out. I know there are many differing points here, but if we played the "What if.."game. If you had the one million, what would you think of first, doing something for you or for someone else? Until we start thinking about doing for others before we do something for ourselves, it ain't happening. The Lord has or is already blessing us. If we had more, it would be that we might be able to help others who don't.
Think about it.
