I had an interesting thought today. Before I go there, let me give a little background. This weekend I was notified about agent council elections. There were 18 of us running only 7 were voted in. It was a hard thing to advise and to score. This morning the first thing I was asked was what my thought were. There are 3 ladies and 4 men on the council. 3 of us have been on the council for the past 2 years. The 4 new agents have been on the council previously. 3 of them left the program to become supervisors. They have now all changed from those roles and are agents again. Suddenly there is concern about whether or not we will be a cohesive council this year. There is a great deal of yearning for the executive position. Where will it go?
Yesterday I was asked to teach the lesson in Priesthood. We were talking about the signs of the second coming, but the thought that caught my eye was in the first few paragraphs. It talked about Joseph instructing the High Priests. He told them that in order for revelation to be given, for the spirit to abide, they all must be of one heart and one mind. If they were not on board with each other, then no progress would be made. There would me more time wasted fighting within than there would be working for the outside.
I wonder what would happen if I took that thought to the council. I wonder if it will be possible for all of us to work together, with the same purpose, and same desire or will we be fighting internally all year long. I guess we will have to see.
