A Little Let Down
It is just a few minutes after 10. Normally, I would just be leaving the temple, but we were kind of let down this evening. Last week, every session was jam packed. The baptistery was filled with excited youth. Everyone was talking about being in the temple the first day it was open after the dedication.
This week, it wasn't so much that way. There were several patrons, but it was nothing like last week. It is kind of sad to think that the novelty of a new temple has already worn off. In fact, no one even showed up for the last session.
We are told of a time when temples will dot the earth, when they will be filled to capacity and we will be working in them 24 hours a day. That day seems so far away after working this evening.
We need to heed the words and encouragement of the prophets. We need to make time and sacrifice time to serve in the temple. Evaluate. How often do you go now? How much time to you sit in front of the TV or a book? When was the last time you did all of the ordinances in the temple? What blessings are promised to you?
Hope this helps inspire you to go more. Even better if it inspires you to go and take a friend.
