Survival of the Holiday Weekend
Yep, we made it through another holiday weekend. We had no major injuries, very few casualties, and no adventure that we could not endure. There were some touch and go moments, but we made it.
So what did we learn?
-It is better to keep the Sabbath Day Holy- When I went to work yesterday, I learned that some of my co-workers went to the Alpine Slide as well, but they went on Sunday. She did not look took good. The sled tipped over and she slid down the slide, on top of her granddaughter, removing skin, and breaking bones.
We really did have a good Sunday. I appreciate your willingness to focus on things like that. I enjoyed starting and finishing a puzzle with you.
-It is hard to tell when name calling is real or just in jest- We all need to work on this one. Hopefully, we will continue.
-Following must be done in the same direction- Sorry, that sounded like it was in jest. But seriously, it was a good memory. Last night as I sat in the temple reading 2 Nephi 30-31, I was reminded of that memory. The Lord has asked us to follow him. We did that this weekend as a family.
-The pup does not do well on her own- I don't get it. In dog years, she is what 40 something? You would think she could stay home alone. I am glad that she is back with us. She still likes to wake me up in the night, maybe that was her way of getting even for leaving her in the first place.
-We are a family- I hope that you will all remember that. No matter where we are in our lives, what we are doing in our lives, or what goals we aspire too; we will always be family. Remember that you are brothers and sister, we will always be your parents, you will always be our children. This knowledge is sacred in my mind. I hope that you will learn to regard it with the same importance.
