What is it?

I have been listening to the talk going on in the house as of late. Yesterday, I heard a great deal of murmuring. Most of the murmuring had a great deal of self pity in it. I just did not like the sound of it.

I spent the rest of the night thinking about it. The question I ask myself...what is it that you want? Yesterday I talked about distractions. If you ask yourself what you really want, then I want to know what you are doing about it? Are you letting the distractions we have been talking about taking you away from what you want?

There are so many things out there that we can do, we can have, and that we can become. Unfortunately, we have to make a choice. Do we want to do them all, have them all, and become them all? Or do we want to the best, have the best, or become the best we can in one area? Depending upon your answer, you will guide you in your next step.

If we are going to have it all, do it all, and become all that we want, then we are going to have to understand that we may not be the best. We will just be the best we can be by juggling all of those things. Really that is all that we should ever hope for, being the best we can be. We shouldn't compare ourselves to others.

The other hand isn't really much different. To become the best we can, we would need to focus on that one item until we have reached our goal and not worry about the other things. Still remembering, the goal is to be the best you can.

With that being said, what are you doing about? Are you really applying yourselves or are you letting other things distract you? How much to you practice, rehearse, study, or do to make yourself the best you can in any one given area? Think about it. I think we all have room for improvement.
