The Plan

We had an interesting discussion today in priesthood. We were talking about the plan of salvation. The instructor started by drawing the most commonly used plan on the board. You know, the Pre-Mortal Life, the Veil, Mortal Life/Earth, Death, Paradise/Prison, Judgement, and then the Glories. We talked about all the area and started going into a little more depth. It was crazy kind of cool. We were having a great discussion. Then the instructor talked about how he did not like this model. No where does it talk about Christ.

He erased everything and drew a new one. Our goal is Celestial Kingdom. The things that stop us from getting there are Death and Sin. Christ bridges the gap of Death. It is a freebie, we kind of, we had to choose or keep our first estate to even have the chance of mortal death. Then he bridges half of sin, we are required to bridge the rest. It was a good discussion.

Then the question came up about where did God come from? I often wonder why we worry about it so much. As we get older we do start thinking about it. Sometimes we get so caught up that we can get lost in the idea. So we have to be careful. As we were talking about it, I was reminded about a conversation I had with Little Man on the way to church. I had mentioned something about when I was in high school...., Little Man looked at me incredulously and said, "You went to high school Dad?" It caught me off guard. He only thought of me as an adult.

In order for us to enter the kingdom of God, we must become as little children. If we over think things we are no longer being like children. Little Man is a child. He sees his Father as an adult. He does not think about me ever being young like him. It is unfathomable for him to think that I would ever have experienced the same things he has experienced.

Aren't we the same way? How many of us can fathom that our Father in Heaven was ever like us? Some day we may find out that he did experience the same type of things we did. If we are child like, it should surprise us.

Keep it simple. We don't have to know everything in this life, we just need to know what we need to do to get to the next level, then we will learn what we need to do to get beyond that.
