Preparation

We have been taught from our youth to always be prepared. Isn't that the scout motto? We are asked to prepare a year supply. We are asked to have savings as a back up. In Sunday School, Primary, Priesthood, Young Womens, and Relief Society, we are taught to prepare ourselves with what we will do when faced with temptation.

Today at work, I was asked to train two individuals who were returning to work from a leave of absences. Our Administration people had known they were coming back from a week or so. They filed all the paperwork, dotted all the I's, crossed all the T's, and sent all the emails they were suppose to send. Then this afternoon, when it was time to start, one of them was able to get into the system, and the other one was not.

They had both done the same preparation, yet only one of them was to move forward. Isn't life that way. We do our best to be prepared, yet we don't always move forward at the same pace. Some times, no matter how prepared we are, the set backs take a little longer to wade through. The important part is that we keep wading. We can't stop.

I think we need to add to the preparation. We need to also be firm in our foundation of faith. We need to find that foundation ourselves. No one else can find it for us. We must find the strength to endure, to keep moving forward, no matter what the obstacle or challenge. Some times we do it together, some times we have to do it alone.

The agent that was not able to move forward today was moved to a class that will start on Monday. It is nothing but a few days. In the end, she will be in the same place as the agent to move forward today. If we all keep moving forward, we are promised the same goal or destination. Keep moving towards it.
